| | accomplished | ] | So this past weekend my mom came into town to help with painting/fixing/moving my place around. This is what it turned into:

I thought it turned out ok, hopefully the rest (meaning the ceiling) will turn out well too. They just need some sanding/painting at this point. |

| [ | Current Mood |
| | bored | ] | Well, people may have wondered what happened to me, what with the long absence from lj. Yes I still exist, and everything seems to be going well thus far. Work is generally good, though I have a project due shortly so I'm somewhat stressed about that. Corey recently moved out so now I have more room at my place again (living with Megan). Oh and no I'm not dating Megan, but that is a recent turn.
Hmm hmm, I'm going to be going to England around mid-late April, and Origins in July. Origins was a given, but this time I'm taking off for a full week so it should be extra fun. England should be good too, seeing family and some touristy stuff should be cool.
I don't have much else to say, though I'm betting there is lots people might to know. |

Poll #807443 Car preference
Open to: Friends, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 7Preferred car of the small compact kind
I recently took my car to the mechanic to see what kind of problems it was having. Turns out that the transmission is on the way out. It would have taken $2,500 to fix so instead I'm going to drive it for a while more (1-2 months) and then get a new vehicle. I already have some ones that I am aiming for: vw rabbit for its horsepower scion xA for its feature to price ratio along with better gas milage and the Honda Fit for the in-between. There is also the Nissan Versa which isn't too bad either.
I guess I just would prefer the fit or xA because Toyota and Honda have the best track record for reliability and mpg. Anybody have a favorite among these? OOoooh, I could do a poll. |

| condo |
[Jul. 24th, 2006|03:04 pm] |
Wooo I am now the proud owner of a condo in midtown. It is a 2 bedroom 1 bath with a bit bigger of a kitchen than my current. I just closed today (Monday) and have the keys now. I also just talked to two guys about getting the floors refinished, which should (hopefully) be done by Thursday evening. This means quite a lot of moving this coming weekend (fun!). The bad part of this is that from this Friday until next week Thursday the interweb will be down for me :(. That is apparently the earliest that Comcast could come by to do it.
So I get happy week of packing and dealing with the move. Oh and if anyone feels like helping me move stuff this coming weekend, I would certainly appreciate it. |

| slew of stuff |
[May. 1st, 2006|10:53 pm] |
Well first I just got my written offer today, so I will be starting work at assurant on the 15th. Yay for me. Should be a much better job, benefit wise, kind of work wise, and all around atmosphere wise. The only hard part will be living through the 2 weeks at my current job. I dunno what they (geostats) are going to do about me leaving, I'm sure they'll be ok, but they definately are going to need someone to replace me.
Second, I am in the process of getting pre-approved for a mortgage so I can go look for places soon. This will be cool, I can't wait to actually start owning rather than renting.
Third, and best of all, I had an incredible date with Heather aka lucky this past weekend (Friday/Saturday). The Inman park festival was great and I'll post some pics at some point in the future. |

| ren fair, response |
[May. 1st, 2006|12:09 am] |
In response to a ren. fair post I saw on live journal:
You should, if you ever get the chance, check out the Ren. fest up in Tennessee/Nashville. It is much better (or at least I think so) and worth the drive. I've also been told the one in Texas is too, but I have no data to back that up. I also plan on going to it sometime in May (weekends are when it will be there).
It has better shading, more stuff, and a castle to tour. Coolest castle I have seen that someone lives in. Anyway,

[Apr. 9th, 2006|02:12 pm] |
So Coke just came out with Coke blak which comes in glass bottles similar to old coke, but with a whole new logo for it. It is coffee + coke, haven't tried it yet but I had to get some to try it out. Will update with results...
<5 minutes later> Results are good, very interesting taste. Not really anything softdrink/coffee wise like it. |

So I got civ 4 and am looking to play multiplayer. If you want to join in on a game let me know some time. I'm going for something where we meet once a week or so and play for an hour or so, or if not that then play by email. |

| update! |
[Oct. 27th, 2005|12:09 pm] |
Hmmm, lets see.... Just got done with shadow of the colossus, and it seems to me to be a prequel to ico. Very neat ending.
Got my costume for halloween the other day, still need one or two parts though.
Been really bored at work and have been playing games because of lack of things to do.
I dunno, lots of things happening this weekend. I'm going to go see something wicked at the center for puppetry arts this Saturday, should be fun. Others should go too, Saturday is the last day for it.
I'm getting civ4 today and others should get it too, I would love to play it multiplayer if others want to. blah and things. |

So I'm doing dinner tonight at Uncle Bud's. This is the one that you get to via 75 N, take the 285 west exit, but get off at the cobb pkwy exit. Turn right into the far turn left lane. Turn left into spring st. Take this for a while, you'll eventually see it on the right. |

Hey, so I gain a year on my age this Friday. Anyone up for doing dinner with me somewhere? Possibilities include Meehan's, generic American, or some other type of restaurant. That is if people actually would want to.
So yeah Friday friday fri.... |

[Jul. 20th, 2005|01:31 pm] |
This keyboard has the keys themselves as tiny displays which relate to how they are mapped. Hopefully this will be available here within a year or so.
